THE JUDICIARY

Art. 60 – Justice shall be dispensed in the name of the Algerian people under the conditions determined by the law on judiciary organization.

Art. 61 – In penal matters, the right to defence shall be recognized and guaranteed.

Art. 62 – In the performance of their duties, the judges shall only obey the law and the interests of the socialist Revolution.
Their independence shall be guaranteed by the law and by the Higher Council of Magistracy.
