HIGH COUNCILS
Art.
65 - The High Council of Magistracy:
It shall be composed of the President of the Republic, the Minister of Justice,
the First President of the Supreme Court, the Attorney General at the said
court, one lawyer at the Supreme Court, two magistrates, of whom a Justice of
the Peace, elected by their peers at the national level, and six members elected
by the Standing Committee of Justice of the National Assembly.

66 – A law
shall determine the powers and rules of functioning of the High Council of
Magistracy.
Art.
67 – The
High Council of Defence: It shall be composed of the President of the
Republic, the Minister of National Defence, the Minister of the Interior, the
Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Chairman of the National Defence Committee of
the Assembly, and two members designated by the President of the Republic.

68 – It shall
be notified of all military matters upon which it shall issue an advice.
Art.
69 – The High Economic and Social Council:
It shall be composed of five deputies designated by the national Assembly, the
Director of Plan, the Governor of the Central Bank of Algeria, the officials of
national organizations, and representatives of the principal national economic
and social activities designated by the President of the Republic.
The High Economic and Social Council shall elect its president.

70 – The High
Economic and Social Council shall be notified of all bills and private bills of
an economic or social nature on which it shall issue an advice, and may hear the
members of the Government.
