The Administration of the Constitutional Council
The Organization and the functionning of the administration of the
Constitutional Council are governed by the afore-mentioned Presidential decree n°
89-143 of August 7, 1989 and by the decision of january 11, 1989 relative to the
organization of the administrative service of Constitutional Council.
The administration of the Constitutional Council is not a heavy
structure. It is endowed with a general secretariat headed by a Secretary
General, assisted by directors of studies and research and an administrative
service.
In accordance with article 7 of the afore mentioned presidential decree,
the Secretary General is entrusted under the authority of the President of the
Constitutional Council to take all the necessary measures for the preparation
and the organization of the activities of the Constitutional Council.
The
administrative department consists of two departments :
- The documentation department which includes the office of studies, the
office of analysis and documentary exploitation, the clerk's office and the
library and internet service.
- The department of staff and equipments which includes the staff office,
the budget and accounting office and equipments office.
Appointment to senior positions and function is through a mandate of the
President of the Republic made by decision of the President of the
Constitutional Council within the limit of vacant budget positions.
The cessation of functions takes place in the same forms concerning financial matters, the President of the Constitutional Council is the senior official in charge of financial matters. However he may authorize the secretary General or any other civil servant in charge of financial accounting management of the institution to sign.

The Library of the Constitutional Council, which is part of the reference and documentation division consists of 3,329 entries mainly in Law.In addition to subscription to several journals and magazines, the library exchanges documents with other institutions.
