Art. 74 – Every person shall abide by the Constitution and comply with the laws and regulations of the Republic. Ignorance of the law is no excuse. Art. 75 – It shall be the duty of every citizen to protect by his work and his behaviour public property and the interests of the national community, to respect the attainments of the socialist Revolution, and to raise the standards of life of the people, each according to his capacity. Art. 76 – The commitment of the citizen towards the homeland and the obligation to contribute to its defence shall be permanent duties. Every citizen shall loyally meet his obligations towards the national community. Art. 77 – It shall be the duty of every citizen to protect and safeguard the independence and the sovereignty of the country, as well as the integrity of the national territory. Treason, espionage, defection to the enemy, as well as all crimes committed against the security of the State shall be punished with the utmost rigour of the law. Art. 78 – Citizens shall be equal before taxes. Every one shall contribute, according to his means and within the framework of the law, to public expenditures for the satisfaction of the social needs of the people and for the development and the security of the country. No taxes, duties, or fees of any kind shall be laid retroactively. Art. 79 – The law sanctions the parents’ duty to raise and protect of their children, as well as the children’s duty to provide help and assistance to their parents. Art. 80 – It shall be the duty of every citizen to be public-spirited, and to respect the rights, liberties, as well as the dignity of others. Art. 81 – Woman shall fully participate in socialist building and national development. |
